City of Livingston 2011-2012 Budget

 

  • The City was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for its 2010 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This is the 23rd consecutive year the City has earned this prestigious national award.
  • Our local economy experienced a modest rebound in 2011 as evidenced by increased revenues.
  • The sales tax revenue, a major indicator of the economic condition of the area, increased by 5.8%, the hotel occupancy tax increased by 4.3%, gross receipts and franchise fees increased by 13.4%, sanitation service revenue increased by 10.5%, and parks and recreation income increased by 24%.
  • The Utility Fund experienced an increase in revenues as a result of the extremely hot and dry year which resulted in increased electricity and water usage.  Electric sales revenue increased by 5.4%, and revenues from water sales and sewer service increased by 17%.

In 2010 the City received its 23rd consecutive award for the highest recognition given in governmental accounting and financial reporting. This attainment represents a significant accomplishment for the City and its management.
